manager Denis Ryan and Bruce McLachlan after Phelan Ready's Magic Millions win.
Congratulations to long time supporters of Rocksberg Spelling Farm, training combination
Bruce and Jason McLachlan as Phelan Ready scored a remarkable win in the $2 million
Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast this afternoon.
Phelan Ready is one of our regular spellers here as he was broken in and pre-trained
at Rocksberg Spelling Farm. Greg and Lori would also like to congratulate Denis and
Bill on their winning success and extend our thanks to our many supporters.
GOLD COAST, Qld, May 2 AAP - Trainer Bruce McLachlan may have unearthed his next
Group One star after hulking gelding Facile Tigre annihilated his opposition at the
Gold Coast on Saturday.
Fresh from his success with Phelan Ready in the Golden Slipper
last month, McLachlan teamed with his former stable jockey Eddie Wilkinson to take
out his first $100,000 Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m).
Bruce McLachlan and his son Jason created racing history by becoming the first training
partnership to win the world's richest juvenile race when Phelan Ready came from
a seemingly hopeless position when near last on the turn to score a famous win at
Rosehill.
Jockey Brad Rawiller, in doubt all day with a serious knee injury, produced one of
the great Golden Slipper rides to guide Phelan Ready home.
Brad Rawiller celebrates after riding Phelan Ready to victory in the Golden Slipper
at Rosehill Gardens on April 4, 2009 in Sydney, Australia.

Australian racing is mourning the loss of leading Queensland trainer Bruce McLachlan,
who died suddenly on Tuesday night at the age of 67.
His death comes only two months after star two-year-old Phelan Ready gave McLachlan
his biggest triumph when he won the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m)
at the Gold Coast and the Golden Slipper at Rosehill in Sydney.
The recent victories were shared with his son Jason after they formed a training
partnership late last year.
Based at Caloundra, Bruce was an Australian training force long before Phelan Ready’s
recent wins.
After leaving the Queensland police force, Bruce trained more than 3000 winners.
He dominated the Brisbane trainers’ premiership during the 1980s and 1990s, winning
the title 16 times.
He rose to national prominence with horses such as Planet Ruler, Chortle, St Jude,
Al Mansour, Sublimate and Virage De Fortune.
We here at Rocksberg Spelling Farm are greatly saddened by the untimely passing of
long-time friend and colleague Bruce McLachlan and wish all the very best for his
family.
We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with McLachlan Place Racing
Stables and offer our full support to Jason McLachlan as he takes us into a new era.
